BIOGRAPHY
Mark Stuart started playing the guitar in 1980.
Around the age of 12, after a few years of Folk and then Classical playing, he discovered the Electric guitar, Blues and Jimi Hendrix!
Mark began teaching guitar shortly before leaving school – in 1991 – and has been a very successful professional tutor (Guitar, Bass, Ukulele) ever since.
Upon leaving school he also joined a hard working British Blues band, playing extensively around the U.K. and Europe for a couple of years. This gave him some invaluable early professional playing experience and he found himself playing alongside an array of older, more experienced musicians ( Zoot Money, Dick Heckstall-Smith, John Etheridge and Georgie Fame amongst others… ).
Since then Mark has played with countless bands and musicians of all styles, either as session musician or part of a regular band line up. As a young guitarist he had the privilege of working in the studio with the late Gus Dudgeon ( record producer – David Bowie, Elton John, XTC, The Beach Boys, Chris Rea, Fairport Convention etc etc ) and the recording studio remains one of his favourite habitats!
In 2001 Mark formed HOMEBREW with Louisiana vocalist / frontman Nolan Wiltz ( to be later joined by guitarist Mark Robinson ) and the band have released two albums of original acoustic blues, with another one in the pipeline…
Alongside a full time teaching schedule ( which now includes delivering Skype lessons ) and Homebrew, he currently plays in several other bands ( e.g. The Super things, The Fabulous, Wolowitz ), a couple of duos ( Voodoo Virgins, The Super things duo ) and as a solo guitarist – playing all kinds of music, either in pubs or at weddings and functions.

Whilst always striving to maintain a friendly and informal atmostphoere, Mark is constantly aware of everystudents need to progress as well asl enjoy their instrument and is veryexperienced at successfully combining the two things (see testimonials below)
Grades
Teaching a range of different Grade exams for Guitar, Bass and Ukulele, Mark has an extremely good success rate going back many ears. Lots of his students take grades but Mark has also helped countless others achieve their goals and a high level of musicianship without ever taking an exam
Enjoyable
Most of all playing guita should be enjoyable and that is always Mark’s goal. If you enjoy it, you’ll want to stick with it! He firmly believes in assessing each pupil individually throughout their tuition and knows that what may work best for one person may not be suitable for another
One to one guitar lessons in Felixstowe
Mark teaches from his fully equipped teaching studio at home, in Felixstowe, Suffolk. Spare guitars are always available for students who are without their own instrument ( ideal for beginners who want to ‘try before they buy’ ). Patient and understanding, Mark has the ability to make you feel comfortable with your playing, whatever your level, yet inspires you to want to progress.
Personal guitar tuition via Skype
This is a great way to enjoy personal guitar tuition, from anywhere in the world, without leaving your home! All you need is a good internet connection, a webcam / microphone (built into most laptops), either a Paypal account or Bacs capability……and a guitar!

GUITARIST FOR HIRE
Mark is available for all manner of functions ( Weddings, Parties etc ), either as a solo guitarist or as part of a wide range of ensembles and bands.
He also works as a session player ( guitar, bass ), recording both in professional studios or from his own home studio for online sessions.
